Agreement between ČSSZ and the Slovak Social Insurance Company on electronic exchange of data

Share article:

The Czech Social Security Administration has signed an agreement on electronic exchange of data with the Slovak social insurance company Sociálna poisťovňa. This cooperation will mainly affect pensioners domiciled in Slovakia, who receive pension from the Czech Republic. They were previously obliged to present a so-called certificate of living in the Czech Republic, which meant authentication of the document and subsequently sending it to the insurance company in every quarter of the year or with every request of payment of the benefit.

The contribution of the new agreement between these public administration entities is the computerization of the exchange of information, which was previously based on issuing paper documents. In the first stage of the project, the Czech and the Slovak side will only exchange information on deceases, so that unjustified payment of benefits would not take place. In further steps, information from the area of pension insurance will follow (the amount of pension, type of pension, type and amount of deduction).

After the agreement has taken effect on 1 January 2022, it will no longer be necessary to submit the certificate of living several times a year, but only once a year. This will reduce administrative burden for pensioners and also eliminate the risk of unjustified payment of pension.
