With effect from 2 November 2023, the Czech Social Security Administration has proceeded to the next stage of computerisation in the area of the agenda for determining jurisdiction for legal regulations (the so-called A1 forms). Within this framework, the services of the CSSA ePortal are being expanded, the application forms are being updated/expanded to include the A1 form and their processing is being computerised.
This is the first stage of the introduction of the service in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2018/1724 of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a single digital gateway for the provision of access to information, procedures, assistance and resolution services. In the next stage, an online application in the form of an app and an English version of this service will be made available at the end of 2023.
In this context, we would like to remind you that when employees (or self-employed persons) perform business trips abroad (irrespective of the length of the business trip, e.g. also in the case of a one-day trip to a training/trade fair), they are required to be provided with the so-called A1 form, which certifies their affiliation with the Czech legislation on social insurance, health insurance and statutory employer’s liability insurance. In the event of an inspection abroad (e.g. during an inspection at the headquarters of the parent company, at customers’ premises, at events, but also as part of a roadside inspection, etc.), the employee is obliged to present a valid A1 form, and failure to present this form may expose the employer to fines (in the amount of hundreds to thousands of euros, depending on the country).
