On 15 December 2021, the Senate approved the emergency caregiver allowance proposed by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs without any further changes. Both parents as well as for example close relatives will be entitled to the allowance. The allowance can be drawn retroactively from the beginning of November and will reach 80% of the daily assessment base. Specifically, it is a minimum of CZK 400 per day. Persons performing work based on agreements to complete a job or agreements to perform work are also entitled to emergency caregiver allowance if they participate in sickness insurance.
