The obligation to blend biofuels into fuel ended in July. The addition of bio-components will thus remain on a voluntary basis only. This is another of the measures the government expects to make fuel cheaper, among other things. According to an earlier statement by Finance Minister Zbyněk Stanjura (ODS), prices may decrease by CZK 1.5 to CZK 2 per litre.
In addition, the obligation for fuel suppliers to submit notifications of compliance with the obligation to provide a minimum quantity of biofuels during the calendar year has been abolished, which will reduce the administrative burden. This obligation has been cancelled retroactively for the period April to June 2022 and also for the submission of the annual report for 2022.
