At the end of September 2023, the National Accounting Council (“NAC”) approved for external comment a draft interpretation related to the reporting and valuation of securities.
The interpretation addresses, among other things, whether all types of securities should be presented in the financial statements as cash in hand, i.e. as part of current assets, or whether some types of securities should be presented in a different (truer) way? What about the revaluation of these assets as of balance sheet date – do exchange differences arise? It is not only these questions that this draft interpretation answers.
The full text of the draft interpretation can be found here.
The general public now has the opportunity to comment on NI-69 until 31 October 2023. Subsequently, external comments will be addressed, resulting in a final interpretation relating to the reporting and valuation of securities.
