The government has decided to prolong the Antivirus programme for the month of June 2021. Despite the endeavours of the trade unions and the employers for the Antivirus to work in full regime in June, same as in the previous months, the government has decided about cancelling the A+ and B contributions. In the case of A+ contribution, entire wages were paid with levies up to CZK 50,000 in closed premises. In the case of the B contribution, this was a wage compensation resulting from limited production and provision of services due to drop in demand, staff or raw materials up to 60 percent of reimbursement of wages up to CZK 29,000.

Now, though, only contribution A will function, which represents 80 percent of paid compensation of wages up to CZK 39,000 for employees, on whom quarantine or isolation has been imposed due to the covid-19 disease. The validity of the Antivirus programme is newly set until 31 December 2021, which allow the government to prolong or renew the eligibility period of any contributions or regimes of the Antivirus programme, without needing to approve the conditions of the programme again or to enter into new agreements on provision of the contribution.

According to the data of the Ministry of Labour, more than CZK 16.5bn have been paid from the programme in the year 2021 already, and a total of more than CZK 43bn have been paid. The European Union participates in the expenditure representing four fifths, the state pays the remaining one fifth. According to estimates, in the following month the state will probably pay approximately CZK 30m per month on support of employers in the upcoming months. This some will probably continue to decrease, with the prospect of the epidemiological situation improving further.
