Karel Tlustý is a Manager for Business Risk Services at Grant Thornton. His activities focuse on risk management, ESG and sustainable investing, compliance, internal audit, financial services and financial management. He has extensive experience in international financial markets, banking, treasury, corporate financing, risk management, internal management and control systems and strategic development.
During his experience in various financial institutions, he worked in the areas of risk management, financial markets, financial management, treasury and corporate finance. He managed financial product design and development projects, especially in the areas of project and corporate finance and financial derivatives, managed projects for the implementation of banking information systems and projects for the implementation of regulatory rules. He has been involved in bank licensing projects, bank merger projects and collaborated on other strategic, commercial, risk management and compliance projects. He participated in the implementation of projects for the financing of investment units mainly in the energy and engineering sectors, prepared export financing projects and financing of development projects.
Karel has 30 years of experience in various financial institutions, including 17 years as a risk manager and 7 years as treasury manager and CFO. He holds a degree in Economics and Production Management from the Czech Technical University in Prague, a Master’s degree in Business Law from Nottingham Trent University and an MBA from Sheffield Hallam University. Karel is a certified valuer at the University of Economics in Prague for the valuation of businesses, securities and financial assets.
