At the end of last year, four calls were announced under the RES+ programme, through which the Modernisation Fund distributes funding for the construction of photovoltaic power plants throughout the Czech Republic.
CZK 9 billion will be distributed among successful applicants from among entrepreneurs, municipalities or regions. Applications for most calls will be accepted from 1 March. So, now is the perfect time to start preparing your own project. PV plants with an output of 10 kW–5 MW with self-consumption for energy entrepreneurs
Existing and future entrepreneurs in the energy sector will be able to obtain a subsidy up to 50% for the installation of PV power plants with a capacity of over 50 kWp and up to 5 MWp of self-consumed electricity. For projects implemented in Prague, the lower limit is 10 kWp. Financial support will be available not only for the PV plants themselves, but also for battery storage systems and systems for hydrogen production by electrolysis of water (electrolysers).
PV power plants with output over 1 MWp for entrepreneurs in the energy sector
Not only existing and future entrepreneurs in the energy sector, but also renewable energy companies can finance the installation of new photovoltaic power plants with an installed capacity of more than 1 MWp with the help of the subsidy. These can be stand-alone or clustered PV projects with a single transfer point to the distribution or transmission grid. In this case, the PV installation can also be supplemented by the acquisition of a battery storage system and an electrolyser.
PV on public buildings for municipalities
Municipalities with a population of up to 3,000 can benefit from a subsidy of up to 75% for the construction of new photovoltaic power plants with a capacity of up to 1 MWp per transmission point to the distribution or transmission grid. PV can be installed on buildings or other infrastructure, including shelters. In addition, municipalities will be able to combine the projects not only with forced investments in the renovation of roof structures and the modernisation of electrical installations in buildings, but also with the introduction of energy management.
PV on buildings and other infrastructure for regions, municipalities and city districts
The latest call is aimed, among others, at counties, municipalities and urban districts, which can finance the installation of PV plants with a capacity of up to 1MWp per transfer point to the distribution or transmission grid. The construction of PV plants can again be combined with other activities such as the introduction of a battery storage system for the electricity produced, the acquisition of an electrolyser, the introduction of energy management, the forced renovation of roof structures and the modernization of electrical wiring in buildings.
