On 14 October 2020, the government of the Czech Republic approved a proposal of minister of labour and social affairs Jana Maláčová to prolong regime A of the Antivirus programme. In connection with this, support for entities that have been forced to close their premises due to the current government measures (i.e. restaurants, pubs, bars, fitness centres, swimming pools etc.), has increased significantly. What specific changes have occurred?
Prolongation of regime A of the Antivirus programme
- Regime A of the Antivirus programme is being prolonged until 31 December 2020.
Increase of support
- Until this time, the contribution due to forced closing down of premises reached 80 % paid reimbursement of wage, including levies, but no more than CZK 39.000 per one employee per one month.
- As of 1 October 2020 (i.e. retroactively) the contribution due to forced closing down of premises newly reaches 100 % of paid reimbursement of wage, including levies, but no more than CZK 50.000 per one employee per one month.
- The contribution from regime A of the Antivirus programme per employee in quarantine remains unchanged, i.e. 80 % of the paid reimbursement of wage including levies, but no more than CZK 39.000 per one employee per month.
What about regime B and C of the Antivirus programme?
- Regime B intended for employers, whose employees were subject to obstacles in work on the part of the employer arising as a result of economic difficulties brought about by the coronavirus disease, and regime C intended for smaller employers, whose payment of levies for social insurance for June to August 2020 were waived, remain unchanged – i.e. regime B is currently in effect until the end of October 2020 and regime C can no longer be applied.
