On 30 January 2025, MERO ČR and ORLEN Unipetrol entered into a new contract for the transportation and storage of crude oil, which will help ensure stable supplies of this key raw material within the Czech Republic. The mutual agreement thus strengthens the energy security of our country.

MERO ČR terminated the original contract with ORLEN Unipetrol on 31 May 2023 and the companies subsequently started negotiations on the parameters and on entering into a new contract. In preparation for the negotiations, Grant Thornton Advisory provided ORLEN Unipetrol with expert support, including in particular economic and data analyses and strategic argumentation to prepare the company for the negotiations with MERO ČR. Our goal was to provide quality expertise and support for strategic decision-making at ORLEN Unipetrol.
